Education Initiatives

Education Initiatives

The National Policy of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship 2015 laid down the importance of skilling students within formal education to enhance their employability. NSDC works closely with various ministries, state governments, UGC, AICTE and other stakeholders towards making formal education more vocational. Students in schools and colleges undergo skill development training along with their regular academics, followed by assessment and certification by concerned Sector Skill Councils, in association with respective school education board or relevant university.

National Policy of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship 2015 gives quality in skilling significant importance. Critical to this is the supply of quality trainers and assessors. This division is charged with fulfilling the need for qualified training delivery staff and assessors in the skill development space by providing continuous professional development training and certification to eligible trainers via a robust training model covering domain and platform skills. All 34 Sector Skill Councils conduct Training-of-Trainers and Training-of-Assessors programs across the country as per approved guidelines.

NSDC's Short Term Training Team is responsible for program management, capacity-building and training of various stakeholders at the centre and state-level, guiding IT infrastructure and knowledge management for the scheme. The team imparts industry relevant skills to a million youth annually, enabling them to navigate job markets and help them to set up their own enterprise.

This division is responsible to study the financial products in the market that support candidates migrating to different countries, understand the gaps that limit the mobility of the candidate to specific countries of interest (as per Global Demand Gap Study) and conceptualize appropriate financial products to enhance migration of Indian candidates to other countries thereby strengthening institutional capacity of agencies that assist in such migrations.
